Dogs can be an ideal workout partner, they can be a jogging and walking companion; it does not tell you to “wait up” when he needs to tie his shoes, and he would not say “I'm too tired today” when it's time to go. Nope, he'll just get excited and wait for his leash.
But believe it or not, your dog can be a great training partner even if you just started exercising. Unlike a human companion, your dog will always be ready to get up and go. Since dogs love a daily routine they can count on, your dog will be happy to remind you when it is time to exercise every day.
Working out together can provide important health benefits for you and your dog. These include reducing the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and joint diseases. Not only will you get in a better shape, but your companion dogs will also benefit physically and mentally. Bored, under-exercised dogs often develop behavioral problems that are resolved by adding more physical activity to their daily routines.
