A Dog and other animals
When taking a dog it sometimes is a question if the dog is okay to deal with other pets. Overall, it often goes without a hitch. It is even common for dogs and cats to develop a close friendship.
It is true that there are many communication problems between cats and dogs. Dogs can't accurately assess cats and vice versa either. For example, a cat can indicate its surrender by fleeing the scene. For a dog, it can be a signal to run away to chase your cat.
Physical contact with other animals is not necessary, each other's presence is enough. Cats and other pets may find it frightening to be approached by a strange dog. If both pets accept each other's presence, there often arises quite a friendship between the cat and the dog. The same applies to other animals. You have to learn as early as possible to let your dog get into contact with other animals so they can get used to each other.
Dogs often do not go well with rabbits and hamsters
Dogs see rabbits and other rodents often as prey. Therefore make sure that you do not leave the dog alone with your rabbit. Otherwise, there is a chance that the dog can not control itself, most dogs are bred to kill rats and rabbits. That is still the instinct of the dog. Keep your rabbit or guinea pig, therefore in a secure environment.
